Beginner: Tinkercad

Tinkercad is a free, easy-to-use website or app for 3D design, electronics, and coding. It has a range of introduction lessons, various fun tutorials and many hands-on projects from fellow makers.

Intermediate: Fusion360

Fusion360 is our main 3D modelling software. After a bit of instruction, it's a user-friendly and free (non-commercial). Fusion360 is particularly useful for parametric modelling to create accurate prints.

Advanced: Blender

Blender is an advanced tool that can be used in 3D modelling to make interesting and organic shapes. Similarly to Meshmixer, you can use Blender as a way of finishing models with delicate touches.

Slicing Tool: Cura

To print a 3D model, you’ll need a slicer. A slicer basically tells your 3D printer what to do by slicing the model into gcode instructions. Cura is an amazing, powerful and free slicing tool that we use.
