  • Pedestrians and Cyclists Crossing on Great North Road
  • Continuous footpath along Great North Road at its intersections with Henry Street and Barnstaple Road
  • On-road mixed traffic on Henry Street with a raised intersection treatment at Scott Street including traffic priority change, and a speed hump near Elizabeth Street
  • Line-marking and signage upgrades

In late-June 2021, construction of the following treatments is anticipated to commence. In addition to the broader notification delivered to the community in early June 2021, a further notification will be delivered to directly impacted properties in the lead up to the commencement of works.

We are currently working on a detailed design for a pedestrian/cyclist crossing on Great North Road, shared path through Five Dock Park, and right turn bay on Barnstaple Road near Park Road.

The route the Cycleway takes through Five Dock Park has been reviewed as part of further investigations. Council are proposing that the Cycleway be routed away from the playground and fitness equipment, improving safety for all park users.

As part of a separate project, Council are also investigating expanding the angled parking along Barnstaple Road adjacent to Five Dock Park. These additional car spaces would help reduce parking demand in the surrounding residential area.
