Project completed under Bennelong Bridge

1 July 2024

With the aid of funding from the NSW Government the area under Bennelong Bridge has been transformed into an inviting outdoor gallery and rest stop along the Rhodes Foreshore.

Previously a pigeon haven, graffiti hotspot and a simple shelter from the elements, the area has been revitalised and is now home to a new mural, Mullet Festival by Madwings. The mural is an acknowledgement of the area's traditional custodians and celebrates the gathering that has taken place on the Parramatta River historically and in contemporary times.

This reimagined space now has the infrastructure capabilities to support small arts and cultural activations similar to Infinity goes Outdoors, which was delivered in the space as part of the Council program for Rhodes Moon Festival in 2023.

The transformation of the area under Bennelong Bridge is now complete and ready for the community to take pride in and enjoy.
