Timbrell Park Plan of Management (PoM) and Masterplan (MP) on public exhibition now

10 May 2023

Timbrell Park is a significant and popular park visited regularly by many locals and visitors to the area. We are developing a 10-year Plan of Management (PoM) and Masterplan (MP) – a strategic plan for the park that reflects the community’s needs now and into the future.

In 2019, we first asked for input on the draft Timbrell Park PoM and MP. The hundreds of submissions from residents, park users, sporting and community groups are captured in the Community Engagement Report available on Collaborate Canada Bay. We have now incorporated the community’s feedback into a draft PoM and MP that will shape how the park is managed and inform future upgrades.

The project was necessarily delayed while investigations were undertaken into a possible Aboriginal Midden before obtaining authorisation from Crown Lands to publicly exhibit the draft PoM and MP. We are now re-engaging with the community and stakeholders to get further input on the draft PoM and MP. More information on this can be found at Collaborate Canada Bay.

To review the drafts, visit https://collaborate.canadabay.nsw.gov.au/timbrell-park-POM before Tuesday 20 June 2023.

You can provide feedback in the following ways:

  • Via the form on Collaborate Canada Bay
  • Via email to council@canadabay.nsw.gov.au (Subject: Timbrell Park PoM and MP)
  • Via mail to Locked Bag 1470 Drummoyne NSW 1470

We are also hosting information sessions at the park to answer any questions you have. Come and meet us at the barbecue shelter near the corner of Henley Marine Drive and Augusta Street at the following times:

  • Tuesday 23 May 2023, 4.30 – 6PM
  • Thursday 8 June 2023, 4.30 – 6PM

After the public exhibition period, submissions will be reviewed before the final draft is reported to Council. Council has begun planning the delivery of several projects that the community requested, and we will keep the community updated as progress is made.

If you have any questions, please contact Peter Montague, Coordinator Recreation, on 9911 6443.
