Pedestrian crossing construction starting soon

30 January 2025

Project Update

Last year we asked for feedback on a proposal to install a new raised pedestrian crossing on Shoreline Drive in Rhodes. Feedback was taken to Traffic Committee and Council where no significant changes to the concept plans were made.

Council is now pleased to advise that construction will begin on a raised pedestrian crossing and lighting installation on Shoreline Drive, at the intersection of Annie Leggett Promenade, Rhodes.

Construction will commence in early February 2025 and is expected to be complete by the end of March 2025, weather permitting.

Works will be carried out between Monday to Friday from 7am to 5pm, however, there may be instances that will require work to be undertaken outside of these hours.

We are working towards improving the safety in our local community and thank you for your patience and cooperation during this time.
