Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the concept design during the consultation.

Council has developed the final concept based on the community feedback received. We are now sharing the final plan.

As per the consultation report, the final design incorporates the following amendments:

• Palisade style fence has been proposed as it received higher support from the community compared to the mesh style fence
• Fencing will be extended a short distance along Swannell Avenue to ensure dog safety adjacent to existing bubbler
• One double gate will be provided to allow sporting groups to access and transport their sporting equipment
• A concrete path leading to the double gate will be provided to ensure safe access during wet weather
• Fencing stops at the turning point of future Parramatta to Sydney Foreshore Link path in Byrne Avenue, aiming to minimise any negative visual impact

Next steps

Detailed design is now underway and works are expected to start in May 2024 and will be complete by winter 2024 (weather permitting).
