In 2023, the Rhodes Lunar New Year festivities have been reimagined and include a multi-cultural feast for the senses the whole community can enjoy. There will be delicious food, music, performances, market stalls and more.
A range of different events and activities are being programmed across the Rhodes Peninsula by community event organisers, Council, Rhodes Central and Rhodes Waterside shopping centres.
22 January
2023 Lunar New Year officially begins on Foreshore Park with Sense Asia, a free day time community event celebrating a multicultural feast of performances, food, activities and more for all, hosted by ACBC and Blueonline. See you there from 9:30am to 6pm.
Celebrate the Lunar New Year with a fun-filled cultural evening of stories, songs, and special activities.
Everyone is welcome to join in the celebrations! This event is suitable for children of all ages.
27–29 January
Rhodes Foreshore Park continues to come alive with day and night Lunar New Year festivities hosted by the Rhodes Multicultural Community Association, AB Media and TM Media. A fantastic line-up of performances, food, and activities await for the whole family. A special fireworks display is planned for Saturday 28 January.
17-22 January
Celebrate Lunar New Year in centre. Enjoy a variety of lion dance performances including LED Lions, Children’s Lion Dancers and the spectacular Lion Dance on Poles, plus more.
23 January to 3 February 2023
Join the Lunar New Year Cultural Food Tour.
A great setting for exploring delicious eats on offer, meeting new people and reunion dining fun. Wheelchair accessible.
