The LEP Planning Proposal was reported to the Council meeting on 15 March 2022 and finalised by the NSW Department of Planning and Environment on 26 August 2022. Please refer to Planning Controls (LEP & DCP) for more information.

The Planning Proposal

Council has prepared amendments to the Canada Bay Local Environmental Plan (LEP) 2013. The amendments seek to implement changes outlined in adopted strategies/studies, internal reviews and to correct errors and anomalies.

LEP Miscellaneous Amendments Planning Proposal (PP2020/0002)

The objectives and intended outcomes of the Planning Proposal are:

  • Objectives
    • Improve urban design and built form outcomes within and adjacent to Victoria Road, Drummoyne
    • Complement State Environmental Planning Policy (Exempt and Complying Development Codes) 2008 to introduce requirements for Low Rise Housing Diversity
    • Improve the legibility and accuracy of the LEP.
  • Intended outcomes
    • Introduce revised development standards for the Victoria Road shopping precinct
    • Ensure that future development is undertaken in a manner that complements the desired future character of the City of Canada Bay
    • Improve the legibility and accuracy of the document.

    Council has not been authorised as the local plan-making authority.
