Route Segments

Parts of this route were constructed in 2022-2023, including:

  • Raised Intersection at Heath Street and First Avenue
  • Traffic calming devices on First Avenue
  • Refuge island at Ingham Avenue near Howley Street

We collected feedback on a revised design for the Heath Street section of the cycleway in early 2023 and in March 2023 Council resolved to replace the separated cycleway on Heath St with a two-way mixed traffic arrangement.

Delivery of an upgraded crossing facility on Timbrell Drive has been transferred to the Parramatta to Sydney Foreshore Link project. For additional information visit collaborate.canadabay.nsw.gov.au/PSFL

Parts of this segment were constructed in 2021-2023, including:

  • Raised intersection treatments on Barnstaple Road at Waterview Street and Sutton Street
  • Raised intersection treatment on Henry Street at Scott Street, including traffic priority change
  • Speed hump on Henry Street near Elizabeth Street

The cycleway connection through Five Dock Park will be reviewed separately along with a proposal to expand the angled parking along Barnstaple Road, adjacent to Five Dock Park. We will ask for community feedback on this section when we review the Five Dock Park Masterplan.

Upgrades to pedestrian and cycling facilities at Great North Road are progressing through the required Transport for NSW approval process. Council will seek funding to deliver these improvements.

Potential upgrades to assist cyclist linking across Harris Road, between Bevin Avenue and Henry Street, are under further investigation following previous community feedback.

Consultation is being undertaken on the connection along William Street and Lyons Road West.

We are seeking funding to deliver a continuous footpath treatment in Bevin Avenue at William Street (outside Canada Bay Club).

Consultation is being undertaken on updated concept plans for Lyons Road West.

Parts of this segment were constructed in 2022, including the installation of speed cushions on Stanley Street outside Concord High School.

A new raised pedestrian and cyclist crossing was constructed on Broughton Street in early 2024.

We will ask for community feedback on the Queen Elizabeth Park section of the route when we develop the Queen Elizabeth Park Masterplan. Learn more here.

In light of feedback received from the community on this segment, Patterson St has been removed from the project scope.
