Project Update - April 2023

Council recently met with residents on-site on 6 April 2023 to discuss the McIlwaine Park Foreshore Upgrade project. We thank the community for its interest in this project and we are committed to sharing information on an ongoing basis. As such, we are now providing an update on project progress.

Stage 1 – Foreshore Upgrade

  • Construction has resumed and is on track to be completed by end of 2023.
  • The site design plan for the foreshore upgrade is outlined overleaf with more details accessible through Collaborate Canada Bay website.
  • The plan for native landscaping including the planting of 22 new trees is available at Forestree (URL: bit.ly/mcilwaine).

Stage 2 – Playground and Amenities Upgrade

  • Council is proposing to upgrade the children’s playground and construct new amenities as part of stage 2.This proposal is currently being considered as part of next year’s 2023/24 capital budget and delivery plan.
  • Council is preparing materials to engage the community on the vision and priorities for these projects.

  • We appreciate that not all in our community use the internet, and we will continue to conduct community meetings and send letters to directly impacted residents.
