Congratulations to our winner Leo!

Congratulations Leo!

Thank you for your amazing entries!

Did you know that this year, we'll be planting hundreds of trees throughout our suburbs to keep our streets green? More on that coming soon!

We love our urban canopy in Canada Bay. Trees are a major influence on our streetscapes, contributing significantly to the appearance and value of properties. Indigenous trees provide shade for humans and structures, shelter for wildlife and in urban areas act as wildlife corridors.

How to Enter

To celebrate our trees and to show us which trees you'd like more of, we're asking you to:

  1. Take a snap of your favourite tree in your area
  2. Tell us why you love it in 25 words or less
  3. All entries go in the running to win a Nintendo Switch!

Get the kids involved and get snapping, this competition is running until 5 June 2019.

Canada Bay and our Urban Tree Canopy

We recently asked about how important trees and greenery are to you. We found:

  • Trees are highly valued by respondents
  • Three-quarters want more trees in their neighbourhood and local centre
  • Trees are considered the most important factor to increase local walking
  • You want more trees in parks, along major roads and in centres, however less people wan more trees on their own property
