The upgraded playground at MA McInnes Reserve is now open.

This $100,000 project saw the old playground upgraded with inclusive play equipment, a concrete pathway, improved garden areas, sand pit equipment, public art and more. The new playground was designed in consultation with the community with feedback gathered throughout the planning and design stage to ensure the space was right for residents.Take a look at some pictures of the upgraded playground below.

The project was proudly funded by the City of Canada Bay and aligns with Council’s Let’s All Play Strategy.

Background

Council is upgrading the WA McInnes Reserve Playspace as part of our Let’s all Play Strategy.

Although small, we appreciate the value that this pocket park provides the local and visiting community and we want to ensure that we provide a high-quality play environment for children and carers. Therefore, we consulted with the community to ask for your thoughts on the current facilities.

Your input has been used to develop the concept plan for WA McInnes Reserve Playspace.

Playspace Concept Plan

Following a round of community consultation, Council has prepared a concept plan for the proposed playspace upgrade. We are now sharing the final plans and images of the design.

Features of the playspace include:

  • More inclusive play equipment
  • Synthetic softfall linkages to equipment
  • Sand pit equipment
  • Additional and/or upgraded artwork
  • Concrete pathway
  • Improved garden areas
