Project Update

In March 2023, we consulted with the community regarding a proposed upgrade of the existing Shared Path between Llewellyn Street and Uhrs Point Reserve carpark, Rhodes.

We reviewed the feedback received and updated the plans to address the concerns and ideas raised. Only two trees were removed on the southern side of Concord Road, compared to the four previously identified. These two trees will be replaced by planting four new trees within Uhrs Point Reserve as outlined in the attached plan next year, as part of Council’s broader tree planting works.

The updated plan also included a wider ramp to assist in transitioning cyclists smoothly between the Shared Path and Llewellyn Street. To discourage drivers from obstructing access, we are planning to installed hatched line-marking adjacent to the driveway and ramp on the carpark outside the 1st Yaralla Sea Scout Group.

The proposal is outlined on the plan below.

Proposed Shared Path at Uhrs Point

Project background

Project Background

Council obtained funding from the TfNSW as part of the Get NSW Active program to enhance safety at the existing shared path between Llewellyn Street and Uhrs Point Reserve carpark, Rhodes.

The combination of these works would assist pedestrians and cyclists in safely using the path in this area. It has provided cyclists with a better connection between the area to Ryde and Rhodes.

A parking space within the carpark at the end of Llewellyn Street was required to be removed to facilitate these upgrades.
