Project background

In 2014, the City of Canada Bay entered into a Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA) with the developers of the Rhodes West Station Precinct: Walker Street Development and Billbergia.

A VPA is an agreement where a developer agrees to provide or fund public amenities, public services, affordable housing or other infrastructure as a condition of their development.

Under the Rhodes West Station Precinct VPA, the developer has committed to a $97 million investment into community infrastructure, including the delivery of the $80 million Rhodes Recreation Centre.
