We're pleased to share that construction works south of the new pedestrian crossing, between Mary Street and Rider Boulevard, are now complete — marking the conclusion of Stage Two.

Northbound traffic is now open along the entire span of Walker Street.

The upgrades included the installation of new kerb and guttering, traffic-calming devices, widened footpaths, improved drainage and refreshed road pavement. This milestone improves traffic flow and access, while continuing to enhance safety for people moving between Rhodes Central and Rhodes Station.

Construction is now progressing into Stage Three, moving north toward Gauthorpe Street. Stage 3 will include the construction of a new boardwalk and shared path, as well as landscaping, and is anticipated to be completed by mid-June 2026.

The broader Rhodes Station Precinct remains on track for completion in July.
