How do I enter?

Simply upload your photo on this website by clicking on the 'Upload my photo' button below.

The photo must be an original image taken within the City of Canada Bay. To be eligible for the prize, your entry must include:

  • Your name
  • Contact number and email
  • One sentence outlining the theme and subject of the photo
  • Original image — quality should be 800kb (300dpi), saved as an uncompressed JPEG.

The competition opens at 10am on Monday, 11 July and ends at 11:59pm on Sunday, 14 August 2022.

Employees of the City of Canada Bay and their immediate families are ineligible to enter.

Our theme for this year's competition is Splash, Drip, Flow — to highlight the importance of water in our environment and our daily lives. Entrants may present any photos connected to the theme of the competition and taken with any type of photographic device.

Prizes will be awarded according to the three categories outlined below:

1. People

It is special to capture close-up images of people. A still image will show details, moods, and feelings we would not normally notice. Submit any portraits worth sharing.

2. Nature

Nature photography is never boring. From raindrops to flora and fauna, this category is for images that capture the natural world around us.

3. Youth (aged 5–15 years old)

Young photographers aged between 5–15 years old are invited to share their photos of people, nature, places or things that connect to the water theme. This category will be awarded with a special prize.

Judging and prizes

All eligible entries will be judged by representatives from the City of Canada Bay’s Environment, Place and Media and Communications teams. The panel will judge each entry according to creativity, as well as photography techniques applied.

There will be four prize winners: one for each category and one People’s Choice Award winner, which will be decided through a vote on Facebook. Follow us to make sure you don't miss the vote!

Prize winners for the following categories will receive one $200 gift voucher for a local City of Canada Bay restaurant:

  • People
  • Nature
  • People's Choice

The Youth category will be awarded with a special prize worth $200.
