Council Meeting Outcome

At the Council Meeting on Tuesday, 28 March Council adopted the following recommendation:

That existing parking be reconfigured, and additional parking constructed on the southern side of Phillip Street as outlined in the attached plan.

Work has already commenced on a detailed design for construction, it is anticipated that works will commence in this location in late-2023. Residents will be notified ahead of construction.

Project Background

Council has been investigating the existing streetscape on the southern side of Phillips Street, in particular the existing street trees and their root network in the road reserve.

Following assessment from an arborist, Council is investigating streetscape improvement works that include:

• Rectification of kerbing and pavement
• Additional formalised parking adjacent to the golf course, resulting in eight additional parking spaces
• New footpath adjoining the golf course
• Tree root pruning and tree protection measures including the installation of root guards.
