Project background
Following the opening of the Rhodes Recreation Centre and recent changes in local parking demand, Council is proposing updates to the current parking arrangements on Gauthorpe Street and Marquet Street in Rhodes to better meet community needs.
Historically, the on-street parking on Gauthorpe Street between Walker Street and Marquet Street has been unrestricted. Council is proposing to introduce timed parking restrictions in this area to improve turnover, increase parking availability for local residents, and support the community’s access to Rhodes Recreation Centre.
The proposed changes are outlined on the map below and involve installing sections of 1P timed parking on Gauthorpe Street and Marquet Street from 8.30am-6pm, all days. Any vehicle displaying a Mobility Parking Permit issued by Services NSW will continue to be permitted to park in these spaces untimed.
