From the virtual event era influenced by lockdowns in 2020 to the local businesses graciously providing food and coffee in 2021, each year Make Music Day has evolved! We extend our gratitude to everyone contributing to this event each year, valuing all collaborations, talents, and, above all, the creation of music!

Make Music Day 2023

The day was a resounding success, with buskers hitting the streets in the town centres of Drummoyne, Concord and Concord West.

Additionally, we had performances in Rhodes from the Ebenezer Youth Choir at Union Square and Rhodes Multicultural Community Association Choir at the Rhodes Amphitheatre. Five Dock also came alive with the sound of drums thanks to our friends at Soul Drummer: African Beats who held an interactive drumming workshop in Fred Kelly Place.

2023 Make Music Day featured some long serving members of the community, as well as some fresh faces who were busking:

Make Music Day 2022

Council's Make Music Day events were held in three of our town centres in Five Dock, Concord and Rhodes.

Make Music Day 2021

For 2021, Live Music Night was a successful family-friendly, community-focused event that hosted three lively and vibrant stages at The Connection, Rhodes featuring both local and established artists as listed in the gallery below.

A huge thanks to the production team at Nomadic Fish under the direction of Cathy Kirkpatrick, whose collaboration with Council helped make this event even better.

The Hive Bar and Akasha Brewery hosted a pop-up bar, Twist Potato Sydney provided food, and Schibello Coffee offered warm drinks for those at the event.
