Read, watch, discover
NAIDOC Week is a special celebration of Australia’s history. We recognise the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who have lived and cared for this country for over 65,000 years, and we celebrate their history, culture and achievements.
This year’s NAIDOC Week theme was Heal Country, which recognises that Country and our cultural heritage are the essence of who we are. Heal Country means embracing First Nations' cultural knowledge and understanding of Country as part of Australia’s national heritage.

Aboriginal Dreamtime stories
Aboriginal Dreamtime stories speak of events from the time of creation. These stories have been passed on from one generation to the next for thousands of years. Dreamtime stories are also preserved in songs and dances. These stories give us understanding of the past and have helped us survive through the laws and morals that lay within these stories.
