Here in the City of Canada Bay, we love our trees!

Our trees are some of the most important assets we have as a community. They assist us in adapting to climate change effects, cooling urban heat enhanced by hard surfaces in built environments, as well as cleaning our air and providing natural wind breaks. View our benefits of trees page to find out more about how trees help us.

We are lucky enough to have over 30,000 trees in the City of Canada Bay, with 2,000 of those trees in Rhodes alone!

About the We Love Our Trees campaign

The We Love Our Trees campaign is an urban canopy education campaign beginning in Rhodes in 2024 and rolling out to other parts of our area in 2025. The campaign will meet several priorities and actions outlined in the Urban Canopy Strategy, including actions 7.3.1 'Protect and value' and 7.3.4 'Engage and create', as well as several actions outlined in the Biodiversity Framework and Action Plan, including priority program 2.4.
