Stage One of Iron Cove Seawall Upgrade complete

1 October 2024

We've completed the first stage of our $4.4 million Iron Cove seawall upgrade to help protect and strengthen the waterfront along the Bay Run.

Enjoyed by around 5,000 people each day, the Bay Run is one of the most popular running, walking and cycling tracks in Sydney, and we're committed to taking care of this beautiful community asset.

Occurring across six stages, the project will involve renewing sections of old concrete seawall from Sisters Bay to Birkenhead Point, Drummoyne and installing new rock barriers to better protect the coastline.

We anticipate the entire package of work to be completed by mid-2025.

This project is jointly funded by the NSW Government in association with the City of Canada Bay.
