Thank you to everyone who has provided feedback on this proposal. Feedback has been reviewed and Council staff are considering an alternative location for the cricket nets away from nearby residents.

Project background

Briars Sports has secured $80,000 in funding from the NSW Government to construct cricket nets at Five Dock Park.

Council is proposing to construct the nets at the former bocce site near the corner of Park Road and Barnstaple Road. The design of the nets will prevent balls from being hit outside of the contained area.

The draft Plan of Management currently under preparation for Five Dock Park suggests that informal bocce facilities could be re-established in another location within the park, in consultation with relevant stakeholders.

Community feedback will be considered before a final decision is made.
