Read the adopted Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan
Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the draft Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan. All feedback has been reviewed and an updated draft was taken to Council on 19 August where it was adopted.
More information can be found in the meeting agenda, attachments and minutes. Council will now work to deliver flood mitigation measures outlined in the plan. Funding and timing will be reliant on grant funded financial support from the NSW Government.

Project background
Following the adoption of the Exile Bay Flood Study in 2020, we are embarking on the next stage in the Floodplain Risk Management Program. We have engaged GRC Hydro to undertake a Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan (FRMS&P), and in late 2023 we asked for community input. All impacted properties and property owners in the Exile Bay Flood Catchment were contacted directly about this project.
We asked to hear your experiences of flooding to better understand how flooding occurs in your area and what measures may improve the current flood situation. This feedback has been used to draft the FRMS&P which outlines actions Council will take to manage and mitigate flood risk in the Exile Bay catchment area.
The draft FRMS&P was on public exhibition from 5 June - 10 July 2025.
