About the Community Participation Plan
The Community Participation Plan (CPP) sets out Council’s approach for encouraging community participation and engagement on land use planning matters. It outlines how Council will ensure that communities are given the opportunity to have their say on planning assessments, plan making, or changes to regulatory frameworks.
Following the public exhibition and feedback review, we have updated our Community Participation Plan to include regulatory changes and improve internal processes.
The Community Participation Plan include:
- Updated
references to Council’s Community Strategic Plan and removed references to the Greater
Cities Commission
- Removed reference to advertisements in a local newspaper, in line with the Environmental Planning and Assessment Amendment (Public Exhibition) Regulation 2020.
- Revised the
notification period for development applications to introduce a range of developments
that will be subject to a 21-day notification period. All other
applications (other than Council-related development and designated
development) are subject to a 14-day exhibition period.
- Introduced a minimum notification timeframe of 28 days for a Council-related development.
