Project background

Council is planning to upgrade the community garden at Blackwall Point Reserve, Chiswick. This project will include extending the community garden and installing additional garden beds, compost bins, fencing and other associated site preparation works.

Since 2018, the Chiswick Community Gardeners have operated at Blackwall Point Reserve, growing their membership from 3 to 12 members from the Chiswick, Abbotsford, and Drummoyne areas. Over the years, they’ve become a successful, cohesive, and accessible community group, regularly welcoming new members and receiving ongoing inquiries.

To support this upgrade, Council has secured funding from the NSW Government's Community Building Partnership (CBP) Program. The community garden upgrade is scheduled for completion by September 2025.

Council is now seeking feedback on the two concept designs for the garden up until Sunday 1 December 2024. The two options are of equal project value and you can view the features of each below.
