The City of Canada Bay is very fortunate to have a highly active community and the facilities to enable passive recreation in our beautiful parks and reserves. As part of our commitment to plan for and maintain our parks and open spaces, we are pleased to announce a number of park infrastructure and security upgrades for Cabarita Park.

The works are valued at $500,000 and commenced in October 2018, following a Tender and appointment of contractor process. Works are set to be completed by April 2019.

What did the works involve?

Pathway Lighting Installation

The City of Canada Bay is installing lighting along the pathway from Edgewater Estate to the Cabarita Swimming Centre. The lighting will promote safety and enhance passive security in Cabarita Park at night.

The lighting has been designed by Connect Infrastructure to Australian Standards AS1158 Lighting for roads and public spaces and AS3000 Electrical installations. The ROD LED Bollard has been specified by Connect Infrastructure due to its:

  • minmial light spillage,
  • ability to meet the required lighting levels,
  • visually unobtrusive design, and
  • suitability for outdoor applications

A total of 9 bollards at 12 metre spacing will be installed on the pathway between Edgewater Estate to the Cabarita Swimming Centre. Indicative aerial and photo markups are available below.

Installation works are now complete to the lighting bollards as of Wednesday 5th of June 2019.
