Project Updates

Project background

Council is planning playground improvements at Cabarita Park as part of our Let’s all Play Strategy and to align with the NSW Government Everyone Can Play Guidelines.

Cabarita Park playground is popular with local and visiting communities. In collaboration with the Friends of Cabarita Park and wharf, Council have developed ideas to improve accessibility in the playground.

In June/July 2023 Council asked for feedback on two playground concept designs. The two options are of equal project value.

  • Option 1: Replace all sand with rubber softfall across the entire playground area.
  • Option 2: Keep some sand softfall area, increase the rubber surface area and introduce inclusive and accessible play equipment.
