Project background
We built an outdoor gym in Brett Park, Drummoyne to provide more opportunities for exercise and outdoor recreation.
The outdoor gym is located near to where the playground used to be, towards the corner of Formosa Street and Henley Marine Drive. From 25 October - 24 November 2024 we collected community feedback to inform the design of the gym.
Construction on the outdoor gym was completed in October 2025. Check out the images of the new equipment!
Design and image renders
The design features:
- A mix of outdoor fitness equipment for all user groups, including cardiovascular machines, strength training stations, and flexibility and balance equipment
- Rubber softfall for an easily accessible surface
- Sandstone logs as a seating option
- Trees to provide natural shade

Consultation
From 25 October - 24 November 2024 we asked for community feedback on the proposed location of the outdoor gym. We also asked what types of fitness equipment you would like to see in the space.
