What's happening?
The Arts and Culture Committee was established in 2023 to strengthen communication and engagement between the arts community and Council, supporting the strategic development and improved delivery of arts and culture activities across the City.
While the Committee is not a decision-making body of Council, it plays an instrumental role in representing and raising issues directly with Council to inform strategic planning and development. It also serves as an advocate for the sector on behalf of the City.
The Committee consists of 11 members and meets quarterly.
Following the recent resignation of a Committee member, there is now a vacancy for a community organisation representative or community member on the Arts & Culture Committee. Interested parties are invited to submit an expression of interest. (Please note this is an unpaid position.)
A further report will be presented to Council on the outcome of the expression of interest process.
